Position Summary

Reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer and serving as a member of the Senior Management team, the Director Public Affairs & Strategic Communications will provide leadership and oversight to the Public Affairs, Government Relations and Communications department by developing programs and overseeing day to day operations. 

This role will seek to influence Public Policy directions in favour of public transit and integrated urban mobility overall, and lead the strategic communication program for the association.  CUTA’s national Advocacy Program has a well-respected and effective history over 10 years.  After receiving precedent setting $29B in Federal Public Transit Infrastructure Funding, a key focus of this role will be providing industry input into policy and outcomes.

This role will lead the development and implementation of the strategic direction for the department to ensure the highest quality of services to our members and will establish, foster, and maintain positive relationships with our stakeholders.
