Funding and Program Announcements
- The Progressive Conservatives were elected to government on the promise to reduce the provincial fuel tax by 5 cents per litre. However, Premier Doug Ford said during the election campaign that municipalities would not receive a corresponding decrease in their transfer payments as a result of this reduction.
- During the election, the PCs committed to an additional $5 billion in funding for subways in Toronto and a two-way GO Transit to Niagara Falls.
- Upload responsibility for subway infrastructure (building and maintenance) from the city to the province.
