Universal Accessibility

Transit is a key provider of accessible transportation services across Canada. Critically, many barriers to accessibility still prevent Canadians from being able to fully participate in society, exercise independence, and access important services. Providing universal accessibility has long-been a priority for Canadian transit systems – one that requires overcoming financial and technological challenges. The study and sharing of information and best practices regarding accessibility is a key strategy for agencies and other industry participants to improve transit service and build inclusive communities.
