Position Summary

Due to an impending retirement, the TTC is seeking an experienced Human Resources leader to join its team in the role of Chief People Officer. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief People Officer is responsible for all aspects of the TTC’s People Group management and planning functions and is accountable for providing high quality strategic and operational direction and leadership with respect to the services provided by the various departments within the People Group. These departments include: Human Resources, Employee Services & Systems, Employee Development & Training, Operations Training Centre, Policy Development and Investigative Services Unit. The CPO is also responsible for planning, directing and overseeing all activities of the People Group’s staff to ensure a high level of performance, quality and customer service orientation in line with the Corporate “People” strategic objectives.


As the ideal candidate, you will possess extensive experience in the delivery and management of a wide and diverse range of services related to all aspects of human resources management, preferably gained within a large unionized public sector environment, along with extensive knowledge in strategic planning, employee and labour relations, as well as policy development. You are a strong people leader with a proven ability to effectively lead and manage a large diverse, multidisciplinary team resulting in a work environment conducive to positive employee morale, a commitment to customer satisfaction and high delivery of service.
