Senior Transportation Planning Engineer (2 positions)
We are currently looking for two Senior Transportation Planning Engineers to provide leadership, forward thinking and strategic transportation planning expertise to the City’s transportation planning projects and initiatives.
These positions are responsible for leading the development of policy, and transportation planning principles for major City initiatives including long-range planning for the Central Waterfront, Burrard Skytrain Station and Waterfront Parks in the West End, as well as leading current planning elements of Transportation’s Climate Emergency response and creating Vancouver’s first-ever Urban Freight Strategy.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, Transportation Planning, the Senior Transportation Planning Engineers will be responsible for supervising a team comprised of Engineers, Planners and Engagement specialists. The position will also work cross-functionally with other transportation branches, other City departments including the Park Board and external stakeholders, such as TransLink, and the Port of Vancouver to develop, inform and shape future City transportation policy, and the transportation response to Citywide long-range plans and initiatives, and current planning major projects.
