Session 1 Highlights: CUTA Transit Policy Forum 2017

In September of 2017 CUTA hosted it’s annual Transit Awareness Days in Ottawa. As part of this year’s event a Policy Forum was held at the Delta Hotel in Ottawa. The policy sessions from that day were recorded so that members can share and better understand some of the most challenging issues the transit industry faces at a federal level.

The first session of the day was titled “Private Money, Public Transit.” In this session speakers explored best practices and common mistakes when it comes to private investment in transit infrastructure, from a national perspective.

On the panel were: Bruce McCuaig, Executive Advisor at the Canada Infrastructure Bank, Privy Council Office; Sharon Greene, Sr. Vice President, Finance Market Sector Director, HDR; Steve Naylor, Director, Strategic Business Planning & Development, Metrolinx (GO Transit, UP Express, PRESTO) and the panel was moderated by Alain Mercier, General Manager, Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC).
