OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager, Transit Service Systems, this position leads a team of professionals who lead transit civil engineering projects, provide engineering support and professional guidance to other sections throughout Transit Service Systems, and coordinate with external partners who plan, design, and build projects that have an impact on Calgary Transit facilities. Primary duties include:
•Coordinate and deliver the Policy, Procedure, and Specifications development process within Transit Service Systems, including Light Rail Transit (LRT) Design Guidelines and engineering record management.
•Coordinate cross-corporate input from other Calgary Transit divisions, Business Units and third-party partners/interested parties and resolve conflicting information to provide guidance to other departments and third-party entities delivering capital projects that impact Calgary Transit’s LRT right-of-way.
•Support the coordination of projects in transition from construction to operation, including C-Train and MAX network expansion projects.
•Coordinate resources, manage contractors, and ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
•Oversee inputs to civil engineering and transit projects, including utilities, environmental, and third-party agreements.
•Oversee project teams to ensure the project objectives, budget, schedule, and performance standards are achieved in compliance with City of Calgary policies, procedures, standards and specifications.
•Manage record drawings for Calgary Transit’s civil infrastructure.
