ARTM Wins Lorna Stewart Corporate Leadership Award

Published November 5, 2025.

ARTM received the Lorna Stewart Corporate Leadership Award at CUTA’s 2025 Awards Ceremony in Montreal.

Launched in August 2023, the Metropolitan Inclusive Mobility Program teaches people with disabilities how to use regular public transit across Greater Montreal. Offered free of charge, it serves participants with learning or motor disabilities, whether or not they qualify for paratransit. Led by the ARTM and transit agencies including STM, exo, RTL, STL and CDPQ Infra, the program combines group training and personalized coaching, followed by a three-month free transit pass to build confidence and independence. Since its launch, 1,600 participants have completed the program with a 91% success rate, making an average of 45 trips within three months. More than 75% now use the bus regularly. Supported by nearly 90 partners, the program empowers participants, encourages long-term use of regular transit, and may help reduce future paratransit demand, strengthening accessibility and inclusion across the region.
