CUTA’s 2026 Spring Summit & AGM Brings Transit Leaders Together in Québec City
CUTA’s 2026 Spring Summit & AGM brought members, partners, speakers, delegates and sponsors together in Québec City for three days of collaboration, learning and connection focused on the future of public transit in Canada.
The event opened with a full day of committee and sub-committee meetings, giving members the opportunity to exchange ideas and advance work on key transit priorities, including accessibility, vehicle technology, labour relations, customer experience and more. The day concluded with CUTA’s Annual General Meeting, followed by a Welcome Reception at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, where remarks from CUTA President and CEO Marco D’Angelo and RTC General Manager Nicolas Girard helped set an energizing tone for the Summit.
Over the following days, attendees took part in plenaries, concurrent sessions, technical tours and networking opportunities that explored the challenges and opportunities shaping the sector. Discussions focused on topics such as sustainable funding, zero-emission transit, autonomous mobility, artificial intelligence, data-driven service delivery, safety innovation, ridership trends, community wellbeing and the role of transit in supporting housing and economic development.
Hosted in partnership with RTC, the Summit also gave delegates a closer look at mobility in Québec City through a series of hands-on technical tours. Participants explored local initiatives including the city’s bike-share network, the TramCité project, Flexibus, ferry services, integrated mobility supports and future approaches to transit asset management.
The Summit closed with final sessions, a plated lunch, closing plenary and concluding remarks, leaving attendees inspired and ready to continue advancing safe, sustainable, accessible and connected public transit in their communities.
CUTA extends its sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the 2026 Spring Summit & AGM a success, including attendees, speakers, sponsors, delegates, volunteers and our hosts in Québec City.
