The City of Fredericton is excited to announce that it is actively seeking a dynamic and strategic individual to assume the role of Manager of Fredericton Transit and Parking. This Capital City has been experiencing unparalleled growth and it’s an incredible time to be a part of this community. Fredericton Transit has been Municipally run for 50 years with recently expanded service on Sundays and mid-day on fixed route. With over 100,000 hours of service, Fredericton Transit also provides on-demand and para transit services for the public. The Parking Division manages over 500 on-street parking spaces downtown and operates several parking facilities, providing hourly parking, as well as daily, monthly, and annual permits. Reporting to the Director, Engineering and Operations, the Manager of Transit and Parking is responsible for the comprehensive management of the Transit and Parking Divisions. This senior role involves strategic guidance of transit and parking operations, policy development, setting operational objectives, and ensuring the effective execution of daily transit and parking services for the City of Fredericton. The position requires collaboration with community partners to integrate services and improve customer satisfaction. The scope of responsibilities for this role includes strategic planning, risk management, ensuring high-quality service delivery, financial management, and leading a workforce with both direct and indirect reports. The individual must effectively manage unionized labor relations, as well as oversee performance, incident, accident and attendance programs, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation. As a leadership role, the Manager will lead a diverse team through change initiatives and delivery of programs that create operational improvement and efficiencies.
What You’ll Do:
- Overall management of 68 staff members of the Transit and Parking Divisions, including leadership, strategic planning, direction, and effective management of operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, elected officials and applicable unions.
- Lead program reviews on transit and parking service delivery with a consultative approach with Council, City staff, stakeholders, and the public.
- Develop and maintain a close liaison with other management staff across the organization.
- Oversee the development, management, and administration of the annual and multi-year Capital and Operating budgets.
