Comox Valley Transit offers free rides on B.C. Day

Comox Valley Transit is offering free service on all conventional transit routes and handyDART on B.C. Day, making it easier for residents and visitors to travel throughout the region during the holiday. The initiative encourages the use of public transit while supporting access to local events and celebrations across the community.

TTC celebrates Emancipation Day with Underground Freedom Train

The Toronto Transit Commission’s annual Underground Freedom Train celebrates Emancipation Day by bringing together riders to recognize the abolition of slavery across the British Empire. The special subway journey highlights Toronto’s Black history while promoting reflection, education and community engagement, demonstrating how public transit can serve as a platform for inclusion and cultural recognition.
