Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) Wins Marketing & Communications Award

Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) received the Marketing & Communications Award for “150 Years of Continuous Public Transit Service” at the CUTA 2025 Awards Ceremony in Montreal. 

In 2024, Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) celebrated 150 years of continuous service with HSR 150, a year-long campaign honoring its legacy while highlighting modernization and community impact. The campaign featured heritage bus wraps, digital storytelling, staff recognition, public events, and a 150-tree planting initiative. 

Engaging 20,000 people across 185 events and achieving exceptional digital reach, the campaign boosted customer satisfaction from 83% to 90%, increased Net Promoter Score by 30 points, and grew ridership 14.4% to 21.8 million trips. HSR 150 showed how a milestone can strengthen civic pride, build trust, and connect the community to its transit system.
