OVERVIEW

As a Senior Engineer, Operational Development & Readiness, you will play a critical role in transitioning major transit projects from development and construction into full operations, with a primary focus on the Calgary Green Line. Reporting to the Manager of Transit Interface and Operational Readiness, you will ensure that systems, processes, and personnel are fully prepared for the seamless integration of infrastructure, rolling stock, and systems into Calgary Transit’s operations. Primary duties include:

• Lead operational readiness activities, ensuring tasks are delivered on time and within budget.
• Develop operational requirements and processes to support the smooth transition of new LRT infrastructure into service.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, providing coordination, communication, leadership, and conflict resolution.
• Maintain alignment and manage relationships with third-party utility providers, consultants, contractors, and internal City partners.
• Oversee project processes including safety, quality, environmental compliance, design, construction, inspection, traffic management, and contract administration.
• Identify and manage technical risks related to utility relocations and transit operations.
