Kyle Monda Wins Young Leader Award
Kyle Monda received the Young Leader Award at CUTA’s 2025 Awards Ceremony in Montreal.
Kyle Monda is an emerging leader in Canada’s transit sector, recognized for his dedication to improving the rider experience. He began his career on the front lines with BCRTC as a SkyTrain Attendant, gaining firsthand insight into passenger needs, and later worked as a SkyTrain Operations Clerk, producing safety-critical maps and schedules.
Now a Wayfinding Planner at TransLink, Kyle applies his operational experience to develop wayfinding solutions, signage programs, and customer information strategies that enhance accessibility, clarity, and rider confidence. He has led initiatives such as elevator and escalator closure signage for passengers with mobility challenges, customer experience surveys at Waterfront Station, rapid-deployment service-disruption signage, and event-specific wayfinding for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, earning public praise and contributing to TransLink’s UITP regional recognition.
Kyle is also a mentor and advocate for the next generation of transit professionals through CUTA’s Young Leaders initiative and is active in promoting inclusivity as part of TransLink’s Pride and Allies Employee Resource Group. His collaborative, customer-focused approach and measurable impact on service delivery and accessibility make him a respected and influential voice in Canadian transit.
