Reporting to the General Manager, Transit Services, the Chief Safety Officer is accountable for providing vision, leadership, and strategic direction to Transportation Services. There are three branches under the CSO’s direction: Transit Training & Development; Safety Standards, Investigation & Reporting; and Regulatory & Compliance, Quality Control & Assurance. The CSO is also accountable for managing the Services, human and financial resources, including contracted services, or large capital programs as required. Representing the City to the public, media, and external stakeholders is a key responsibility, all while developing harmonious and collaborative relationships.
