OVERVIEW

The Director, Rapid Transit and Transit Oriented-Development (RT-TOD), reports jointly to the Commissioner of Works with respect to rapid transit implementation matters, and to the Commissioner of Planning and Economic Development
with respect to transit-oriented development matters, and is responsible for the delivery of rapid transit and transit-oriented development initiatives across the Region. The Director will lead, coordinate, facilitate and direct all Regional activities aimed at achieving and sustaining the transit oriented objectives in the Region’s Official Plan and the Transportation Master Plan. As a positive and highly motivated leader who oversees a team of dedicated professionals in the RT-TOD Office, the Director collaborates with other Regional Departments and is a key advisor to the Region’s Rapid Transit Steering Committee which is chaired by the Region’s Chief Administrative Officer. The Director plays a lead role in facilitating proactive planning and design around proposed stations along the Lakeshore GO East Extension and other rapid transit corridors such as Highway 2 Bus Rapid Transit and Simcoe Rapid Transit. With your business planning and stakeholder negotiations experience, you will leverage funding opportunities for rapid transit deployments
