JOB SUMMARY

Job Summary
The mandate of Transit Services is to provide a safe, reliable, comfortable, courteous, and affordable transit service for all, to build and retain an engaged workforce, and to meet the policy objectives set by Council and the Transit Commission, all within established budgets and in accordance with all regulatory requirements.

You are responsible for managing, evaluating, and improving safe, reliable, efficient, timely, and cost‐effective transit vehicle maintenance, in order to support federally regulated transit services within the city, including the development, implementation and evaluation of related plans, policies, guidelines, systems, processes and procedures.

You are responsible for managing financial and human resources including contracted services and stakeholder and partner relationships.  You respond to questions from the general public, customers, Councillors, senior staff and represent the city at public meetings.
