Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Technology Equipment Maintenance, as a Transit
Technologist you will provide technical operations support, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and repair of electronic far system equipment. You will ccollect, analyse and research data generated by same and prepare statistical/narrative reports. You will also collect and maintain technical data files to support software configurations and support installation of hardware and software upgrades and new equipment configurations.
Current Assignment: You will work with system vendor and Region staff to support fare system equipment including ticket vending machines, platform validators, fare boxes and handheld card readers. Work with vendor teams to ensure installations are performed according to Region requirements. Work with installation teams to ensure integration with existing Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) components is successful. Help with acceptance testing of fare system hardware and software. Perform field fingertip maintenance of fare system equipment as necessary. Help test implement changes to system tariff.
