The Town of Cobourg is inviting qualified applicants to submit proposals for municipal transit services, including comingled Conventional and Specialized services as well as a limited fixed route one year pilot. The contract will be for a three (3) year term with the option to extend for two (2) additional two (2) year terms.

The Town of Cobourg currently operates a blended on-demand, conventional and specialized transit service. In addition, the Town will be introducing a limited fixed route pilot project in 2024 for a one-year term. The Town’s current transit contract includes vehicle maintenance requirements and transit operations. The Town will be transitioning to two operational contracts to separate vehicle maintenance from transit operations, providing the Town with further oversight of the maintenance requirements of transit vehicles. The successful proponent shall be required to coordinate with the vehicle maintenance proponent for vehicle transportation and scheduling.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) closes on March 26, 2024, with the goal to award the contract before June of this year. Transit operations, with the introduction of the limited fixed route pilot project would begin approximately three months following the notification of the contract award.
